MULLEN GARNERS ENDORSEMENTS

ACROSS THE BOARD SUPPORT

KINSGTON – From the Mullen headquarters at Kingston Corners, the campaign announced today the first of a series of public endorsements showing the broad based support Tim Mullen is getting in his quest to become the first Libertarian elected to the Pennsylvania Assembly. “While the other campaigns begin the usual smear tactics that we are all so accustomed to in local politics, the Tim Mullen Campaign will continue with a positive approach highlighting Tim's service to community and country while pointing to the benefits of electing an independent third party that would put a set of fresh eyes on the doings of the old parties in Harrisburg” said Lou Jasikoff, spokesman for the Mullen campaign.

"If we had more individuals like Tim who are sincere in bringing back democracy to our country we would be again the leading country in the world. Its been my pleasure to know Tim and to support him in his efforts to change the climate in this State. We’ve only just begun. Thank you for all your hard work."
—Grace Griffin, President CAPTAXES

"Due to the never ending corruption and stagnant political atmosphere caused by career politicians I am supporting Tim Mullen. Tim will bring a breath of fresh air for the hard working taxpayers of Luzerne County." —John Cordora, 2006 Republican Candidate, 120th District, State of Pennsylvania

"I fully support Tim Mullen for State Representative in the 120th. Tim has lived in the area his entire life; Tim has done three tours in Iraq; he is a Bronze Star recipient and Tim is NOT a career politician! Tim fought for all of us in Iraq and now it's time we fight for Tim Mullen!" Joyce Dombroski Gebhartdt  Republican Committeewoman, 5th District NE PA/ Luzerne County.

“I support Tim Mullen for State Representative because I believe Phyllis Mundy has become too comfortable in her position and that we need new representation in Harrisburg. Tim will bring new insight to property tax relief, strong moral values and he will change the old school mentality of our state and local governments."—Kurt Santayana, Elected Democrat Luzerne Councilman

"I am endorsing Tim because of his Property tax elimination pledge to the people of the 120th. No other candidate will make this pledge"—Michael J. Baloga Republican Wyoming Boro Coucilman

“It is time to put party politics aside for the better good of the community and it is why you see a Tim Mullen sign in my yard. I will be supporting Tim Mullen for State representative come election time this November.” Jason Tarreto, Democrat Luzerne Councilman

"I've known Tim for 15 years. He is a dedicated nurse. Tim has given freely when in my greatest need.  The citizens of Luzerne would be well served by electing a man of his character to represent them in Harrisburg."    Peg Miller, Mother of fallen State Trooper Joshua Miller

Tim Mullen concluded “I want to thank all those that are supporting me both publicly and privately.  In the face of political repercussions they are today's true patriots putting party politics aside for the greater good.  I welcome and thank each and every one of them"

CHALLENGED!!

IT’S UN-AMERICAN

Wilkes-Barre, PA— The two behemoths of corruption known as the Democrat and Republican Parties have, once again, challenged the petitions of all statewide third party candidates in Pennsylvania.   What has now become normal modis operandi by these parties of chicanery and deception to insure only they can compete in the arena of ideas must not be tolerated any longer and will not be without a fight.  “Keeping candidates off the ballot is as bad, if not worse, than denying one the right to vote,” said Lou Jasikoff, Chair for the Northeast Pennsylvania Libertarian Party.

Jasikoff added “currently we have men and women dying in Iraq and Afghanistan to ensure free and open elections there and yet both the Democrat and Republican parties found it necessary – even in light of ‘bonusgate’ – to choke off access to the ballot and to give citizens less choice.”

“Joe Sestak himself filed to keep the Green Party off the ballot as its petitions were most susceptible to challenge.  Is the new game plan of the Democrat Party to attack those it views as most vulnerable?  And let’s not forget the Republican operatives in this endeavor challenging the Tea Party and Libertarian candidates.”

Jasikoff concluded “the wretched place that both the Republican and Democrat parties -- and only the Republican and Democrat parties -- have brought this nation must be addressed now.  The endless wars, a broken economy, a failing education system and never ending corruption plus cronyism are the direct results of their policies.  The system can only be fixed when new ideas and competition are allowed into the political arena.  It will never get fixed by limiting voter choice, squashing voices and keeping qualified candidates off the ballot.   It is unacceptable and it is Un-American.”

IT’S OFFICIAL

Mullen, Summers, Bergman on Ballot

Wilkes-Barre, PA— Lou Jasikoff, Chair for the Northeast Pennsylvania Libertarian Party, is pleased to announce that all three Libertarian Luzerne County candidates are now officially on the ballot and no challenges were lodged against them.

Tim Mullen, candidate for State Rep in the 120th District, commented: “I am pleased that my opponents recognize the strength and legitimacy of my campaign and have decided not to challenge my petitioning efforts.  I look forward to presenting myself to the voters as the only viable alternative to a dysfunctional two party system that has abandoned the citizens of the 120th District and the rest of Pennsylvania.”

Betsy Summers, Senate candidate for the 14th District, added:  “The upcoming debates will offer a forum for me to give voters a clear choice in the November elections.    I thank all those who signed my petitions and voiced their displeasure with the traditional corrupt ‘business as usual’ actions of the two major parties.   NEPA citizens deserve better representation in Harrisburg and I am the candidate who will be their true advocate.”

Brian Bergman concluded:  “I am overjoyed that so many people were willing to sign my petitions and help to get me on the ballot for this year.  The people of the 119th district will now have three candidates to look at and choose from.  Only once in the last decade was this seat contested (2006), which shows how many people are tired of politics in Harrisburg. “
“I have done a lot of walking since the spring to get the message of liberty out to the people - going door to door, attending festivals, municipal meetings and grass-root meetings, posting on FaceBook and updating my website.  There is a lot more work to do, however to let people know who I am and what the Libertarian Party can do for them to restore freedom to the individual and freedom from an increasing over-reaching government.  I look forward to the next 12 weeks leading up to the General Election on November 2nd.”

Libertarian announces run for State Legislature

Mullen, To Challenge Mundy in 120th Legislative District

Kingston, PA—Lou Jasikoff, Chair for the Northeast Libertarian Party announced today that Tim Mullen will be challenging incumbent Phyllis Mundy for the peoples’ legislative seat in the 120th District.  “This is the first of many candidates that will be running very active campaigns in Northeast Pennsylvania to give the voters a real choice at the ballot box this coming November.  For too long we have relied solely on Democrats and Republicans to address the issues, and for too long they have failed in their responsibilities to the voters. The Libertarian Party is the Party of Principal, Common Sense, and will be true Canaries in the Coal Mines for the electorate.”

“I am a citizen politician, not a career politician. The economic events of the past year and the steepening slide toward the abyss of socialism, as evidenced by nationalization of the banking, insurance and auto industries, and the push for socialized medicine, has pushed me to act. What more could I do? The answer to myself was a natural response for me. Like anything worthwhile in my life, I decided to take the path of greatest resistance, do what I never intended to do, which was run for public office as your citizen legislator,” said Mullen.

“Tim is your typical, average, home-grown war hero, and Common Sense Libertarian candidate. He has accomplished everything in life that he has chosen to do, and is running out of concern for country, family, and his children.  He has been a lifelong resident of the 120th district, born and raised in Kingston, and attended Wyoming Valley West. He joined the military via the Army Reserves in 1985, paid his way through Luzerne County Community College and became a registered nurse in 1994. After two wars and three deployments, where he earned a Humanitarian Service Medal, an Army Commendation Medal, and a Bronze Star, he retired from the Reserves and now works full time as a registered nurse for Manorcare in Wilkes- Barre,” added Jasikoff.

Mullen concluded, “We can no longer sit idly by while career politicians’ not only increase our taxes, but shamelessly increase their own salaries.  As a military person and a registered nurse, I’ve learned to value the word service; to my family, to my community, to my state, and to my country. I will not vote myself a salary increase in the dead of night, but promise to work to reduce it.”
