Libertarian candidate seeks council backing

Thursday, October 27, 2011
October 26 MAIL BAG ?LETTERS FROM READERS Libertarian candidate seeks council backing For years I have spoken of economic malaise that will last a generation. I shouted from a soapbox on Wilkes-Barre’s Public Square to protect your savings with gold and silver. Politicians from both parties are compromised. The national economy is structurally damaged. At least we still are able to affect some economic and political change on the local level. Nov. 8 is your chance. Any politician promising jobs is blowing smoke. The only hope for this county is to eventually...

Cut back on county spending before cuts are forced on us

Friday, October 14, 2011
Structural deficiencies in our national economy guarantee us a lower standard of living. The greatest crisis of the last 70 years was greeted with the solution to "just go shopping." Government and households have spent beyond their means. Luzerne County took the lead and is saddled with a debt approaching a half billion dollars. The time has come to pay the piper. I am the one candidate that will tell you everything you don't want to hear. We can face our fate head on now by voluntarily sacrificing, or unpleasant changes will be forced upon us in the near future. Some have accused me of used tired old sound bites such as "no tax increases" or "no more borrowing." I am one candidate that will "walk the walk" not just "talk the talk." As promised in past writings I will offer solutions, not empty rhetoric. As your county council member I would ensure that we have another layer of checks and balances by restoring the powers lost by the county controller under the...

Council candidate vows to stand by his word

Tuesday, August 16, 2011
Council candidate vows to stand by his word On the national level, the dysfunctional two-party system has chosen the path of least resistance, avoiding a default in a lose-lose compromise that history tells us probably will lead us to a hyperinflationary depression. I have never felt better in my life about having left the Republicans and Democrats years ago. Back on the home front, the debt situation in Luzerne County is in no better shape; in fact, worse, due to the lack of a printing press to inflate away our debt and postpone the inevitable. When in a hole, to get out, one must first stop digging. As your Luzerne County Council member, I will never approve of any further borrowing. I am a taxpayer advocate. I will never approve of any tax increase or new fees to bring in more revenue during my term. In future writings, I will outline ways to save money to avoid tax hikes and begin to...

Candidate ready to offer independent representation

Thursday, July 14, 2011
A heartfelt thanks goes out to the nearly 300 voters who signed my nomination papers on July Fourth at Wilkes-Barre’s Kirby Park. More people are beginning to realize that a vote for a third party or independent candidate is not a wasted vote or “splitting” the vote, but instead is an addition of new ideas that adds competition to politics. The two-party system is failing us miserably, and as you might soon...

Consider independent candidates for Luzerne County Council

Thursday, July 14, 2011
Now that the dust has settled after the taxpayer funded primary contests, the view of the November Luzerne County council battlefield is clearer. Voters need to be made aware that at least two third party candidates will be hard at work gathering the nearly 1,000 signatures required to appear on the November general election ballot. There is no...
