TIM MULLEN the CANDIDATE with COMMON  SENSE

It's the beginning of August and how time has flown. It's been over 6 months that I started on this quest. A heartfelt thanks goes out to  nearly 2,000 voters of the 120th district as we wrap the gathering of signatures and filing of nominating petitions. That's 2,000 voters that signed on stating "yes he has the right to be on the ballot to be the next representative in the 120th district, almost five times over the requirement! The amazing part of this feat is that so little geographical area of the district was covered during this endeavor. If given more time I'm sure I could have gathered 15,000 signatures. My door to door operations continue on a near daily basis. I regret that it appears that I may not make it to every door in the district as previously planned. I will be citizen legislator, not a career politician, and my co-workers and patients depend on me to be there when scheduled. I am indebted to those of you that have donated either time, treasure or talent to this campaign. I thank the hundreds of you that will be displaying our lawn signs. This includes those that have yet to order one as well as those that have already given us permission for display. Your courage in shunning the political establishment will not be forgotten by me, and hopefully you will be rewarded with a more honest and responsive state government.

Voters from all parties and across all demographic lines are supporting our cause because I have been able to highlight the advantages of having an independent or third party representative. Resonating is the fact that both Republicans and Democrats are bought and paid for by special interests. The people have lost their voice. A party that is beholden to no one other than the taxpayer such as the Libertarians is sorely needed. The grand jury in the recent Bonusgate scandal in Harrisburg has found that the two party caucus system is irretrievably corrupt and broken and can never be fixed in and of its own accord. Nothing short of a constitutional convention will remedy that fact. The eyes and ears of an independent 3rd party may be just the medicine the doctor needs to order to shine a light on the corruption down there. There is something for everyone to like about the Libertarian Party. My greatest base of support has been among the largely Democratic working class towns and neighborhoods. Voters there are in tune to the prospect of having an untainted independent party working for them, as well as property tax elimination.

Conservative Republicans and TEA Party types like the fact that we are the most fiscally conservative and constitutionally bound party. Evangelicals like my pro-life stance and our shift back toward the church, family, neighbors, and private charity for social services that only the most fiscally conservative party could possibly deliver. The elderly are drawn to our return to old-time values  previously mentioned, and the elimination of the property tax, which affects them disproportionately. The young are drawn to us in droves because of our belief in individual freedoms, our non-interventionist foreign policy, and our stance on the never ending and failed war on drugs.   For those of you that have not met me. I am 51 years old, was born, raised, and have lived within the present 120th district my entire life. I grew up in Kingston and attended Wyoming Valley West schools graduating in 1976. I am a graduate of Luzerne County Community College graduating in the Nursing program in 1994. I presently work for HCR Manor Care at the Hampton House in Wilkes-Barre as a nursing supervisor. I spent over 23 years in the Army Reserves, mostly with the 814th Quartermaster Company in Bloomsburg. I am a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and a two tour veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom earning numerous awards throughout my career including the Bronze Star Medal.

I ended my Army career in 2008 and now belong to VFW Post 283 in Kingston and Dallas Post 672 of the American Legion. I reside with my wife of 6 years, and most ardent supporter, Peggy and  stepson Lucas. As we approach the home stretch of this campaign I ask those of you that have met me and those of you that soon will, to concentrate on spreading my common sense message. You can do this by talking to your friends, family, and neighbors, and you can contact us to obtain a lawn sign. I have never asked for money from constituents that I have just met and have been gracious enough to almost instantly given me their support, whether it be a pledged vote, permission to put a yard sign up, or to help with the campaign. Money has been  generously donated for the most part without me asking, up to this point, by liberty loving people. As my well- financed opposition realizes what a threat I have become I expect a torrent of money to be thrown against our efforts down this home stretch. Yes, I will accept your most generous donations of your hard earned money towards our efforts in any amount you can spare. I take great pride in remaining readily accessible to the public. My home phone number appears on all campaign literature and I have replied to all callers to date. If you can help in any way please call me at 333-5446 or visit my web site at www.votemullen.com. Yours in liberty, Tim
